TO FOREIGN APPLICANTS
 

Terms and conditions before entering theological institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church

Foreign applicants are to submit all necessary documents to the Student exchange commission (hereinafter – Commission) not later than 30 days prior entering exams in respective theological institutions.

Commission examines applications from candidates with far-abroad countries citizenship (excluding CIS-countries). Please note that candidates from CIS-countries apply straight to theological institutions.

Baccalaureate, master course, postgraduate studies and doctorate are available for foreign applicants.  

Basic condition to start education is good and enough knowledge of Russian language. Applicants with unsatisfactory skills are enrolled for preparatory course first – in order to comply with lingual requirements after successful finish.

Required documents: 

1. initial application form in English and (if possible) in Russian languages (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed forms to Commission’s email);
2. recommendation letter signed by applicant's ruling bishop or a synodal department head respectively;
3. motivation letter;
4. internal passport/id (copy);
5. international passport (copy), skip in case internal passport/id has international use;
6. all graduation certificates and diplomas, incl. high school (copies);
7. autobiography, detailed and non-template (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed form to Commission’s email;
8. Curriculum Vitae in English and (if possible) in Russian (please, send a scancopy of hand-signed forms to Commission’s email);
9. marriage certificate (if married);
10. foto: in color, 35×45 mm; please, send digital copy to Commission’s email;
11. certificates of proficiency in foreign languages (if any).

Local Churches clergymen who want to continue education in theological institutions of the Russian Orthodox Church are to submit certificates of ordination as a reader/deacon/priest and/or monastic tonsure respectively.
